About Me
My journey to becoming a Massage Therapist wasn’t a straight path. I started off as an esthetician and realized that I liked doing massage better. I often got great feedback from clients that they really enjoyed the facial/neck/shoulders massage aspect more than anything else. The first time I practiced a facial massage on my boyfriend, he even commented, "This is your calling in life". Hearing him give me that feedback changed a lot for me, because I hadn't even considered massage as a career.
Though I could have continued doing massages under my Esthetician’s license, I decided to go to massage school so that I could learn more modalities. I truly believe that being thoroughly educated is incredibly important. I’ve seen and experienced too many spas and therapists that have been thrown into sessions that they aren’t qualified to do. All clients deserve to have someone that cares about the technical aspects of this experience as much as they care about their comfort and safety. I also learned better ways of doing things so that I wouldn’t be straining myself in the process. That year of school was one of the most difficult times of my life, but it was well worth it.
What I like about massage is the connection of energies. I love it when I can feel my client’s muscles relax and their tension dissipate. This is what I want to bring to every massage : creating a safe space that allows true relaxation and healing. It’s very rewarding to be able to do that for someone and to bring them happiness and bliss.
In my free time I love spending time with my dogs, traveling, going to the symphony or opera, catching art shows, fine dining, and gardening.
